3 Powerful Forgiveness Tools

3 powerful forgiveness tools

Forgiveness is a difficult thing to do, a difficult thing to achieve and it’s very often not something that will go away with one session or one approach.

You have to chip away at it repeatedly sometimes.

If however you have ever felt the energetic release that forgiveness causes, you’ll understand why we chase it so ardently.

Forgiveness releases you completely.

The thing that you thought was such a big thing just no longer exists, it has no influence over your life… the person who forgives is truly freed and feels it on every level.

Ho'oponopono

Hoʻoponopono (ho-o-pono-pono) is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.

The basic premise of it is that anything you do that is negative and bad emotions like anger, hated, enmity, etc. cause physical illness and symptoms in your body.

The way to heal these issues, according to tradition, is to confess you fault or sin so that it no longer has power over you or to hurt you.

There’s a powerful forgiveness exercise that stems from the tradition, and it is simply this:

Hold a picture of the person in your mind while repeating over and over and over:
I am sorry, Please forgive me, I love you, I thank you.

Even if you don’t feel it in the beginning, just keep going. There will come a point where it will just all of a sudden you’ll know something has changed, something is different and you personally will feel lighter and more relieved.

Bathed in white light

If you prefer something a little more visual, bathing someone in white light is a non-threatening exercise that most will be able to do.

Imagine the person you are angry with, or who is angry at you, standing. Then see yourself standing next to him and anyone else directly involved in the situation standing around you. How doesn’t matter.

Now see a white light in your belly and in the belly of the main protagonist and see it growing quite quickly, until it completely encapsulates each of you.

See the light join and keep expanding until it incorporates everyone in the picture. If it helps you, say I forgive you over and over again in your mind.

A Course in Miracles (ACIM)

A course in Miracles teaches that we cannot really achieve forgiveness ourselves, but we can ask that forgiveness is chosen for us.

Whether you prescribe to that particular philosophy or not, there’s an element of truth in the concept of send up a prayer.

Ask your deity to choose for forgiveness and choose for peace for you so that you can release this.
